Highlights
Each team hit a pair of long balls in this contest with the difference being that the Brewers having runners aboard while the Twins efforts were solo shots. The left fielder for the Brew Crew, Geoff Jenkins accounted for all the runs necessary for victory with a bases loaded shot into the right field baggie in the top half of the 4th and big Prince Fielder who DH’d for the night, had a 2 run bomb to right center in the 7th. Bill Hall also had 2 RBI’s when he doubled with 2 on in the 5th that finally chased Twins starter Scott Baker with score at that point 6 to 1. Milwaukee’s starter Claudio Vargas went 6 innings allowing 4 hits including the 2 solo homers by left fielder Jason Kubel and first baseman Justin Morneau. He struck out 5 and walked 2 before giving way to reliever Brian Shouse who pitched to the minimum number of batters for the last 3 innings.
